Hand Made Burp Cloths

I went to a baby shower yesterday, and just had to show you what I made. I have been thinking about what to make for my friend's new baby for awhile. I haven't sewn much in the past few months, and this was the perfect thing to get back into it. I found this tutorial for these super easy Burp Cloths.
I used Chenille and Snuggle Flannel from Joann's Fabric store. These are so soft, I wish I had a use for them, but alas, I don't burp up anymore. LOL and I don't have kids either.

Of course, I had to make my own card, and tag to match. I love these little monkeys! They are from Basic Grey: Oliver. And she is using a jungle theme in blue/green for the baby room.

The label for the set, is another of my stash of image trades. It is Stampin Up, against a hand stitched label from MFT, and that is on top of a mat stack from PTI. I used every company I love for this whole set. LOL

PPA74 Sketch Challenge

I loved this sketch because it was so easy to come up with what I wanted to stamp. I used Basic Grey: Mellow designer paper. I have a stash of precut dies from PTI, so it is quick and easy to use. This one is Fillable Frames #5, with a sentiment from #10. The designer paper has a chalky blue polka dot, so I used one of my light blue chalk inks to do the polka dot frame on the diecut. Then I used my fav A Muse blooms in pumpkin pie ink from SU.

JustRite Friday Challenge 32: Color

this was the color challenge this week over at the JustRite blog. i really like these colors together. they are giving away copics. i would love to win some, i still only have the one skin tone.
so this is my card, i used my nestabilites to cut it out, and i popped up the olive ring around the image, and let the main daisy image stay level with the card. i left the nestie on the ring when i used my dauber to sponge the olive ink, i like the bright white edges, it looks like there are extra layers there. and the designer paper is Mellow from Basic Grey.
the daisy is watercolored with my aqua pen and SU pumpkin pie and really rust inks to give a little depth.
then i used my glaze pen at the end for just a little shine.

Resisted Shells

this was a fun technique to try. first i stamped with SU french script background in creamy caramel. then stamped Stampington's shore cliff elements shells in versamark and embossed with fine clear embossing powder. then i sponged with PTI ocean tides ink around the edges and over the shells until they were pretty dark. i did something similar in this post, but with UTEE ultra thick e p. it gives a different look.
the background paper is Basic Grey, and i just had to add some hardware.
i couldn't get the shine to show up very well, but you can see it just a little. i had fun with it.

Shower Gifts

lisa came over and we made these notebooks for gifts for her baby shower games. i used the embossing resist technique on this one. the stamp set i used is Vintage By the Sea from tweetyjill. the paper is PTI ocean tides, cream, and Basic Grey:Mellow pack.
i stamped the phrase in versamark, then the starfish, but i only had utee ultrathick ep. then i used a paper towel to add Memento bamboo leaves and pear tart ink.

these 2 are the ones that Lisa made. the stamps are from PTI Take Note set. the paper is PTI brown, and SU pumpkin pie.

and these are the other 2 that i made, again using PTI Take Note stamp set.

Pumpkin Crazy 2

i think i have shown some of these pumpkin cards before. but i have changed the cardstock colors and the patterned paper too. i think the polka dots are happy, that is why i paired them with this phrase.

i made some with the hemp twine, they are both made with close to cocoa cardstock.

and this is a little different take, with really rust and pumpkin pie cardstock. i loved the orange polka dot paper but it was overwheming on the pumpkin paper, so i brought in the cream layer.
they are all done with watercolor pencils and an aqua pen. you know i love watercoloring.

Burgandy Petals

sorry that i haven't uploaded anything lately. but maybe you will like this latest card. i was inspired by this basic grey paper from the sugared collection. i used some glimmer mist for the faux watercoloring. i also used a sketch of a card (the pink poppy) that i saw on Debbie Olson's blog, Thinking Inking.
paper: su river rock, bravo burgandy, whisper white. basic grey-sugared.
ink: bravo burgandy, mellow moss.
accessories: oval punch, horizontal slot, corner rounder, bravo burgandy ribbon.

Another Gift Set

i love this paper by Tres Jolie. this uses the JustRite monongrams. lately, i have been including a bookmark with the set too.
it comes in a box from clearbags, and has 4 folded cards, and 4 single note cards, with 8 envelopes to match.

this set uses groovy guava ink. i hope tammy likes her set.
