CPS Challenge #159

this is my first time trying the CPS challenge, and it was fun.

i got together with The girls to stamp today, and michelle brought her Impressions Obsessions clear stamps: damask floral. i thought they would be perfect for this challenge. since they were clear, i molded the stamp to curl in the opposite direction. i used my aquapen to color the leaves in, and the dp is from Cosmo Cricket. sentiment is SU(upsy daisy).

Crocus

last year, steph sent us a gift certificate for tulips.com for our anniversary. these were some of my purchases. these are the first to bloom. i love the deep purple at the top of the stems.
aren't they pretty? overcast days are best times to take pics of flowers, so there are no shadows on the blooms. you can tell in this one, that it started sprinkling when i was trying to take this.

Poppy Seed Challenge #1

just playing along with Lisa Johnson's challenge. this is my card.

i used my Flourishes Waterlily set, and my aqua pen to color. The yellow is SU So Saffron, but i think it looks a little apricot in this shot, maybe it is the orange mat that throws the color off. The challenge also called for crystals, so i used Crystal Effects to make the water shiny(don't think that is what she meant, but i liked the idea), and i also added one gem in the corner of the piercing. The lily also has some so saffron on the petals.

First Diaper Bag

this is the first diaper bag that i have made. it is really a messenger bag, that lisa wanted to use as a diaper bag. she can use it later when she doesn't need it as a diaper bag. this is amy butler fabric that lisa picked too, we ordered it online at quilthome.com. they are a great company to order from, they have super fast shipping, and excellent cuts of fabric.
it has 2 pockets with flaps on the front.

the pattern called for 1 pencil pocket on the inside, but i changed it, and put 2 regular pockets on the inside.

when i was cutting the fabric out, i tried to get all the fabric to line up, so the backside would look like one solid print.

once i finished the bag, i thought it looked so big, that she wouldn't use it. and i had plenty of fabric left, so i made a small tote, that looks more like a purse. it is the sweetest looking purse, that i thought i might keep it for myself. ;)

it has 2 hidden pockets, that i have never made before, but i love them.

i had enough striped fabric to do the handles and one pocket,

so the opposite side of the purse has a polka dot pocket.

More Baby Stuff

lisa had some Gerber Organic onesies on her Target wishlist. so i stamped on some.
i think the scooter is my favorite.

but the giraffe is cute too.

lisa had to try the scooter on the baby, to make sure it fits. ;)

More Shower Fun

this is the banner for lisa's baby shower. i didn't get a pic of it hanging at the shower, well, it didn't hang long, it fell actually. i am surprised too, my father-in-law was using duct tape. mr. macgyver used it for everything!
dave loved the moose best.

I is for Indian elephant.

A is for alligator.

and i didn't have an animal for N. i tried putting a horn on my whale stamp to make a narwhale, but dave said "thats not what they look like". oh, well, Lion ends in N.

these are candy favors. dave has me hooked on Starburst gummies, so that is what is inside.

i used the Bubbles embossing folder to add some texture.

Thanks to Kim for cutting out the banner pieces for me. i think they turned out great!

Shower Gifts

lisa came over and we made these notebooks for gifts for her baby shower games. i used the embossing resist technique on this one. the stamp set i used is Vintage By the Sea from tweetyjill. the paper is PTI ocean tides, cream, and Basic Grey:Mellow pack.
i stamped the phrase in versamark, then the starfish, but i only had utee ultrathick ep. then i used a paper towel to add Memento bamboo leaves and pear tart ink.

these 2 are the ones that Lisa made. the stamps are from PTI Take Note set. the paper is PTI brown, and SU pumpkin pie.

and these are the other 2 that i made, again using PTI Take Note stamp set.
