Stinky Fun

i used an aqua pen to color the skunk. dave said this was his favorite stamp out of the pun fun set, so i decided to use it first.

Tulips

my friend stephanie took these pics. i think these fields are amazing. this is in skagit valley WA. i wish i could have experienced this in person.

Wild About You

i realize my blog has turned into a sewing blog instead of focusing on my cards. so i thought i would show you some that i took to the apple festival back in the fall. the giraffe has its spots punched out so you see the matte thru it.

Matching Makeup? Bag

i just had to try my hand at making a smaller bag. i think it turned out pretty good, considering i had not made one before, i didn't have a pattern, and i haven't put a zipper in anything in about 13 years.

New Headboard

i have branched out in my fabric loving ways. i have wanted a headboard for our bed for a while, and my dad cut out the wood and made the cleats to put on the wall. i love that it is flush with the wall, and all i have to do is lift up to move, it even slides left or right if it needs adjusting.

i wanted the top to match my new mirror, so i taped parchment paper to the wall and used a sharpie to trace along the top. it worked! it matches perfectly, dads are so great! then i used one inch foam, and a king size quilt batting that i folded several times to make it soft.

Courtney's Tote

ok, i am getting faster at making these. this one took me no time, i think because courtney was so excited about getting to pick out her own fabric. and i couldn't wait to see how it would turn out. i like the small print best.
i tried to get different blooms centered on both sides.

and we tried a heavier fabric than i have been using, just because it matched the best. it turned out well, the tote stands up better by itself. but my fingers were sore after the handstitching was finished.

Mary's Tote

here is mary's tote. mary, laura and i walked into joann's fabrics store and in the first aisle, mary said, i like this and this, and was done. laura and i were looking for 2 hours. mary had to put up with us. mary, sorry we took so long.

i used the flash on one pic and not on the other, can't remember which is which. the top shows the colors better.

Cards Sent to Me

this is the anniversary card that Michelle sent me. it is awesome. she used clear embossing with the print pattern stamp on a patterned paper. then the center palm trees are stamped on acetate. and it is flapped over with a magnet.

this is the card mom sent me. the french flair is stamped on vellum. and the big bloom is embossed in black and cut out. it is so cool, because it feels puffy.

these are some more of my favorites of my mom's cards.

here are a couple of laura's cards. i love her leaf brads, also the copper paper.

here are some favorites of michelle's. the winter one has a clear window with glitter on it. i love them all.

Tulips

dave came home from work with these for me. he is such a sweetie!

they even had red hearts in the water. very romantic. am i making you sick yet?

15th Anniversary

today is our anniversary, and i waited til the last minute to make a card for dave. i think it is masculine enough. he eats olives on everything, so i think he will like it. (not everything, he likes them on pizza, and salads, and right out of the bottle.)

i used michelle's nestibilities. i love those things.

inks: su ruby red, old olive
aqua brush, corner rounder punch, rectangle nestibilities

Vintage Wild Things

mom came over today and we stamped together. this is what i made with my new stamp set. i ordered this set direct from the Gel-a-tins company on march 14th, they didn't ship it until the 27th. i guess i am just used to dealing with Papertrey who are most wonderful with their lightning fast shipping. the set i bought from them, went out the day i ordered it. i LOVE fast shippers!
i used my dewdrops again on this card. they are so fun.
stamps: gel-a-tins- big & wild things
ink & paper: su river rock, vintage violet

Laura's Tote

i am in love. i went to Joann's fabric store for the first time ever. they are wonderful! everywhere i looked there was fabric as far as my eye could see. but i only looked at fabric, i only had time for fabric shopping.
so here is the fabric that Laura picked out. the bottom pocket and straps are really an artichoke green, but it is cloudy today and it kinda looks brown in the pic.

michelle is so great! she had these labels made for me. when i was working on her bag, i kept trying different inks to stamp with on fabric, they kept bleeding into the fabric. so i ended up not using any labels. not any more! i love them.
