Doodled PaperCrafts Sketch Challenge

so here is my doodled birdies card. i think this is really close to a one layer card. (i know i have a mat, but still, that is a lot of white space!)
i stamped on the inside too. just one bird tho.

i used my grid paper and a ruler to line up the paper, then line up the ruler with the grid sheet showing out the edges, to get the doodles pretty straight. that was fun! i love doodling like this.
Paper: PTI black, white, raspberry fizz
Ink: Memento rosebud, black inkpen
Stamps: PTI Take Three: Summer

Another Sketch Challenge

i tried one of the sketches for PaperCrafts mag.
i wanted to go away from the obvious banner look. i love these colors together. (PTI aqua mist & SU pixie pink(i think). the ink is Memento Rosebud & Bamboo leaves.
i also used PTI RickRack Die, and Fillable Frames #5 & Die
i stamped the A Muse Bursting Blooms stamp off once before adding it to the tag, so the frame stamp would be brighter.
does anyone have any suggestions on what i could have done to make this acceptable for the mag? i was thinking maybe i shouldn't have let the flower stems overlap some of the flowers??

Card Style Classy & Elegant Challenge

this card is for the Moxie Fab blog challenge: Card Style Classy & Elegant.
since this was a white card, i chose to take the pic in front of my buttons, instead of a white background. i used my new PTI Polka Dots Basics II stamp set, and their Fillable Frames die. I thought the die needed a mat, so i used a black Sharpie to color the edges. it just sets it out a little. the Mr & Mrs & flowers are from SU Together Forever stamp set, and i lifted the "&" off the paper a little and restamped without reinking for a shadowed look. Inks: Memento black & ladybug. Paper: PTI white & pure poppy.

Just Rite Challenge 026

this is for Spellbinders Nesties & JustRite Friday Challenge. this image is from a JustRite set that Michelle won with one of her cards! the paper is aqua mist from PTI, sentiment is also from PTI Fillable Frames and the Polka Dots Basics II. the mat is vintage violet from SU. i colored it with Koh-i-nor pencils.

Card Style Clean & Graphic Challenge

this is for Card Style Clean & Graphic Challenge over on the Moxie Fab blog. i don't tend to do this type of card, altho i always like the way they look. the flower stamp is Marigold from A Muse and is stamped in Bravo Burgandy ink from SU. the sentiment is from PTI Fillable Frames 4. the dp is Bella Blvd: Family Tree: Leaves of Ancestry.

Card Style Shabby Chic & Vintage Challenge / CPS 175

i guess i am stepping outside my comfort zone this week. this is not my usual type of card either. i did this one for the Moxie Fab blog: Card Style Shabby Chic & Vintage Challenge. did i accomplish it? i am not sure. i read their description: to use ribbon, buttons, distressing. so i just did some of those things.
i also used the sketch challenge from CPS.
paper: PTI cream cs
ink: PTI ocean tides, SU creamy caramel
stamps: TweetyJill : Retro Oceanside & Vintage By the Sea
accessories: versamark, clear embossing powder, sponge, ribbon, button & twine

Card Style Cute & Fun Challenge

this is a card for Card Style Cute & Fun Challenge over on the Moxie Fab blog. i needed a card for the diaper bag that i made for Natalie. I used a scallop nestie on the edge of a folded card, then punched a neck hole so it would look like a baby bib. then just tied a twill ribbon around the strap of the bag, it is a tag and card all in one.
i loved coloring those babies. the skin color is my one and only copic. then i used koh-i-nor pencils for the rest. i also made their cheeks rosy(too cute, imo!)

A Muse PJ Challenge 2 : Beach

Since Michelle was doing the hosting for the A Muse Pajama party, i thought i would play along, and here is my other entry for the Beach theme. i used the A Muse 2 color paper again, for the water, and the beach bag stamp.

A Muse PJ Challenge 3 : Water Hazard

Michelle was one of the hosts on the A Muse Pajama Party. Her theme was "water". I didn't have any A Muse stamps that i thought fit this, as her little creatures were so cute. But this is my "water hazard". i used the A Muse 2 color cards, with the blue on the bottom for the water, and the golfer chick stamp. i also did a little paper piecing with her bottom half so i could color her legs with my only copic marker(the skin tone).

Nat's Diaper Bag

This is my latest sewing project. It is made from Amy Butler fabric from quilthome.com. Natalie picked what she wanted, and we ordered it, and once again, quilthome is SUPER fast with their shipping. I love them!
It is the same pattern as Lisa's diaper bag, it is really a messenger bag, so hopefully they will still want to use it when they don't need a diaper bag anymore.
One of the things I changed from the pattern is that I used fleece interfacing, so that it really stands up nice, and has a good body. I also used sew-in interfacing for the top flap, so hopefully it won't bubble up like some interfacings tend to do.

One other thing I changed from Lisa's is that I put fleece interfacing in the strap, so that it doesn't slip in the buckle. I also sewed an extra seam along the D-rings so they don't slide around too much.

CPS 174 & Michelle's Trigger

Michelle and I decided we would do our own Trigger pic once a month. So this is Michelle's pick for this month. Check out her blog to see what she has done with it.
I also used the sketch challenge from CPS blog.
This is my first use of PTI's Polka Dot Basics II, and the Fillable Frames 5 and die, and also my new corner chomper. Then i distressed the edges just a bit. I also used some old stuff, like SU Oh So Lovely, and blue chalk ink, and Tim Holtz Distress tea dye ink. i colored with watercolor pencils and aquapen, and got a little messy on purpose. (sorry Dave!)

Lemon Tree

i know this is a pretty plain card, but i love the watercoloring.
i think the texture on the pot looks interesting. i have been experimenting with coloring outside the lines, i have been seeing this lately in other art, and like the way it looks sometimes. i used my aquapen and inks, but the lemons are Koh-i-noor pencil.

Shore Butterfly

i can't believe it has been a month since i posted anything! i found this in the archives. i used Stampington's set: Shore Cliff Elements. the paper is Cosmo Cricket.
