Card Organizer

here is a card holder. i laminated the front and back covers, and bought rings to bind it together and added some ribbon. dave thinks i went overboard with the ribbon, but i like it.
i used double sided 12x12 paper and folded it up and back to get a pocket on each side. it is Tres Jolie brand, a cardstock weight. here is a link for directions, in case you would like to make your own.

i have a pocket for each month, and a couple extra for Get Well, Sympathy, and Thanks.

last year, i made a bunch of these to send out as anniversary cards. the center sheet of soft sky paper has been pierced, and almost looks suade like. it is one of my favorite cards ever.

Impressions' Leaves

there is some paper piercing at the bottom of this one. i haven't done that in a while. i used laura's retired set to do the fern leaves on the background and envelope. then added a striped paper and the dewdrops.
inks: always artichoke, glimmer mist
paper: always artichoke, creamy caramel

Javabella's Plaid

thought i would have a little fun with the javabella's. they are popped up off the card. i love the bright plaid patterned paper.
inks: pumpkin pie, more mustard, cool carribean, close to cocoa, choc chip, bordering blue

Blanket/Pillow

when i was at laura's house, i saw the coolest blanket that folded inside itself to make a pillow. so here is my version. the solid side is flannel, great for curling up with while watching tv.
it folds into thirds,
rolls up into a pocket that is sewn on the back side,

and into a pillow.
i absolutely love these colors. i love the batik look also. i found these 1/2 off at hancock fabrics. the striped fabric was already sewn into strips, how cool is that?
sorry to say, it was a lot more difficult than i imagined, i will not be making another. (unless i wear this one out)

LOOK AT THESE PICS

If you liked my sunflower field pics, then you will love this one of betty's. here is a link to her blog:

Square Pear

i was showing mom how to make a 5x7 envelope into a square 5x5 by sealing it, cutting one end out, and then gluing a patterned paper to the edge. so then i had to make a square card to go with it. i love this striped paper. betty has pears in her kitchen now, so i thought she would like it. i watercolored the pear in so saffron, old olive.

Sunflower Field

dave found a sunflower field on the way to work last year, and i never got to see it. so we went yesterday, and all of them were facing away from us. so we had to walk into the field a little, so that i could get pics.

we weren't alone in the field.

i love the blue sky against the yellow.

they were amazing. hope you enjoyed the pics.

Tote Info

i have had several people ask questions about getting their own totes made. and they all want details. so, here goes:

i am charging $35.00 to make the tote, plus fabric, plus shipping if you don't live near me.

the $35 is 30 for my labor(it takes 4-5 hours to make) and 5 for the interfacing and thread.

i use 2 types of interfacing, a thinner for the bottom outside pockets, and a thicker for the body.

you can pick your own fabric or tell me what you would like and i can look for you. the cheapest i have been able to buy fabric is around $15.00, that is usually fabric on sale at joann's. it is usually 15-25, depending on sales, and brands we choose.

if you are sending me fabric to work with, i would like to give a few pointers that i have learned when shopping for fabric. watch the person cutting the fabric, sometimes they don't see that the edges weren't cut straight the last time, or they miss marks or imperfections on the fabric. i am not comfortable working with slick fabric(like satin or silk), they really won't hold up well for a tote bag. i have been using decorator fabric for the outside, and a thinner fabric for the lining(like quilters cotton). it is hard to find 3 that match when they are 2 different weights, but it can be done. it might just take a while. you can see all the totes on links at the side of this blog.

what i need:

the bottom pocket: 1/2 yd. (you want a fabric that will wear well, not a light color that will show dirt, remember you will probably be setting it down on floors.) it can be decorators fabric, or another example is michelle's tote, it has brown denim.(see pic at bottom)

the body: 5/8 yd if it is a small pattern, 1 yd if it is a large pattern. if i have to center some flower blooms, i need more to work with. (link has example)

lining: 1 1/4 yd.

tote bag dimensions:

Groovy Embrace

i know you have seen this layout before. i love this stamp set. but for this one i changed colors. this one has groovy guava and ruby red.(the previous card was mustard and rust.) i popped up the center portion. i also used my aqua pen to color the blooms, and then used my crystal effects to make them shine.
stamps: embrace life
paper: groovy guava, ruby red, black, white
ink: groovy guava, ruby red, black

Selena's Tote

hello. this is the latest addition to my tote bags. selena picked out her own fabric and shipped it to me. i like the two different size paisleys.

i hope she liked it.
